Job Summary for Manufacturing Engineer

Responsible for evaluating and improving manufacturing processes within our CNC operation by applying knowledge of machining, programming, fabrication, tooling, and materials.

Monitors CNC machining and post processing of parts; troubleshooting problem processes and assisting in resolving quality issues. Will be involved in various continuous improvements projects and production processes as required.

Responsibilities for a Manufacturing Engineer

  • Leading new and existing projects and production jobs, optimizing cost, efficiency and quality.
  • Monitor the CNC machining processes running in production; troubleshoot problems associated with processes, and assist in resolving quality issues.
  • Evaluate products for manufacturability based on specifications and quality standards and work with Product Development to address incompatibilities
  • Research and confers with tool suppliers to evaluate the latest tools and attributes of new tooling that could optimize our machining processes.
  • Establish detailed processes for new and existing products; document product development and changes; evaluate new product performance; and monitor new tool design.
  • Provide functional and technical mentoring to Machinists/Operators.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment; supporting all company safety programs and initiatives.
  • Apply and support Lean Manufacturing principles.

Job Qualifications and Knowledge Requirements for a Manufacturing Engineer

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering preferred
  • One to three years of experience working as Manufacturing Engineer or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Superior computer skills, with experience in Part Maker, Edgecam, Esprit or similar Software.
  • Experience with FANUC and Siemens controls a plus
  • Knowledge of cutting tools selection and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to support production as a day-to-day resource for resolving CNC production issues
