Quality Assurance Technician

About The Job

The Quality Assurance Technician plans, coordinates, and instructs quality assurance processes to ensure continuous verification of production which is consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through support teams.

Duties:

· Utilize Quality Assurance experience to maintain a high level of competency in a high-volume manufacturing environment and ensure products and service meets engineering specifications.

· Optimize existing inspection processes focused on identifying and eliminating redundant or unnecessary processes.

· Contribute to operational excellence by selecting and implementing the appropriate improvement tools (Lean, Six Sigma).

· Identify and promote activities to reduce quality costs.

· Assist in the further development of team member for optimum value and added benefits to ATTC.

· Communicate any internal quality issues to the appropriate process owners, while working with production personnel to resolve immediate issues.

· Assist in the performance of root cause analysis, and contribute to corrective and preventive action initiatives.

· Ensure compliance with all ATTC safety policies and procedures and report any unsafe condition to the appropriate personnel.

· Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

Qualifications

· High school diploma or GED and at least four (4) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Four (4) years related experience and/or training in a manufacturing or machine shop environment preferred. The ability to read and interpret technical drawings is a requirement.

· Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as: shop math, statistical process control (SPC), fundamentals of plane and solid geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios to practical situations. Working knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.

· Computer Skills: Knowledge of database, spreadsheet, and Microsoft Office.

· Ability to communicate proficiently with managers, supervisors and operators. Provide direction pertaining necessary actions when resolving quality issues.

· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

· Strong attention to detail and time management skills.

· ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred.

· The Quality Assurance Technician is regularly required to talk and hear, while performing the duties of this job. The employee will be required to frequently stand, sit, use hands and fingers to handle parts. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment varies from moderate to loud depending on the area.
