Save the environment and save shelf space.

CO2 laser optics normally contain hazardous chemical compounds that can be dangerous when handled incorrectly. Lenses that contain zinc selenide are especially harmful to the environment.

Like batteries, computer parts and light bulbs, it is against federal law to incorrectly dispose of laser optics. This makes them difficult to get rid of, so many businesses leave them sitting on a shelf or under a table where they collect dust and take up space.

Let American Torch Tip take these hazardous materials off of your hands and dispose of them properly.

Here’s how:

  1. Handle lenses and other optics with gloves and place inside a tightly-sealed, durable plastic bag.
  2. Use the form on this page to request disposal of your hazardous lenses and other optics.
  3. After filling out the form, an American Torch Tip Laser Specialist will contact you within two business days to help you prepare your optics to send to us for proper disposal.

After we inspect your old zinc selenide lenses, you may be eligible for credit toward any American Torch Tip product, if the lenses are free of any visible signs of damage.
